Elisabeth Bergmann

May 15, 1937 — August 10, 2026

Elisabeth Bergmann, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2026, at the age of 89.

Born on May 15, 1937, in Hungary, Elisabeth was a loving and devoted woman whose kindness, strength and warmth touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was cherished by all who had the honor of knowing her and will always be remembered for her sense of humor, generosity, wisdom, incredible cooking and her many talents.

Elisabeth had an extraordinary gift for creating things with her hands. She could knit, sew and crochet just about anything, often putting her time and love into making something special for the people she cared about. Her generosity extended far beyond the beautiful things she made. Elisabeth was always giving whether it was food, money, her time or simply herself. If someone needed something and she could help, she did. Taking care of others was simply who she was. She especially enjoyed cooking for everyone, making enough for an army and famous for her eggnog and German potato salad.

She also knew how to have fun and was always the life of the party. Elisabeth especially loved going to the casino, where she somehow seemed to always be winning! Her family will forever smile remembering her love of the casino, her lucky streaks and the excitement and laughter she brought along with her.

More than anything, Elisabeth found her greatest joy in spending time with the people she loved and who loved her. She brought endless light into every room she entered, and her warmth, humor and larger-than-life spirit made ordinary moments memorable.

Elisabeth is survived by her children, Angie Carlson & Steven Bergmann, grandchildren Melanie & Stephanie and their spouses, Chad David & James Schutz, great-grandchildren, Nathan, Kane, Ava, Abby & Gemma. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Seigfried Bergmann and her loving son-in-law, Michael Carlson.

Her memory will live on through the countless lives she touched, the lessons she taught, the traditions she created, the things she made with her own hands and, above all, the love she gave so freely. Her generosity and kindness will continue through the generations of family she loved so deeply.

Elisabeth was truly one of a kind. She will be missed beyond measure and forever remembered by her family and many friends. Though her absence leaves an immeasurable space in the lives of those who loved her, the legacy of her beautiful life and the light she brought into this world will live on forever.
