Herb Larson

Herb Larson of Woodstock passed away peacefully on May 26, 2026. Born June 18, 1943, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Carl and Florence Larson, Herb was the beloved husband of Sandra Larson; loving father of Sherri (Josh) Farmer, Susan (David) Rogowski, Kerrie (Jeff) Thomsen, and Herb (Herbie) Larson; caring grandfather, lovingly known as Papa, to Tiffany (Brandon) Wiegartz, Kadi (Landon) Davis, Parker Thomsen, Alaina (Xavier) Ramey, Trey Andrews, and Danny Andrews; and proud great-grandfather of Austin Thomas, Blake Wiegartz, Caiden Wiegartz, Nathalie Davis, Otto Davis, and Rigby Davis.

Herb was loved by everyone who ever met him, pets included. He truly loved his wife, children, and many grandchildren. He was one of the most lovable guys and had a great big, dimply smile. He had a heart of gold and a sense of sarcasm like no other. Everyone remembers him in the car (and he certainly loved cars) with his Lifesavers and Twizzlers. Herb loved listening to his 1950s music. God granted him his wish that he wouldn’t have to go to a nursing home or hospital. He went straight to heaven—no more pain or discomfort.
