Ida K. Martin, 94, of Crystal Lake passed away peacefully May 4, 2025. Born in Warsaw Illinois April 2, 1931 to the late Chris and Clara Knoche. Beloved wife of the late Glenn E. Martin; loving mother of Craig Martin, Gregory Martin, Shelley Tardiff and Sherri (Mike) Kelley; caring grandmother of Sean, Maegan and Kyle Kelley, Brian and Matt Tardiff, Scott and Stephanie Martin and Jonathan and Nicholas Martin; great grandmother of Olivia, Ella, Katie, Emma, Hudson, Cameron, Logan and Ella Kay. Ida is preceded in death by her parents, Husband Glenn E. Martin, and brothers Paul, Marvin, and Harold.

Ida graduated from Warsaw high school in 1949 . She went onto marry Glenn Martin on June 18, 1950 at the Trinity United Methodist Church. She became a very active and faithful member of the church as well as the historical society of Warsaw Illinois. She was very active in the Warsaw high school sports where her two sons played basketball and football and her daughters participated in band and cheerleading. She worked at various restaurants throughout her life, including Weber grill in the Chicago area Denny’s in Skokie Illinois where in 1991, she was selected as the All-Star winner and attended a banquet where she was honored with the Denny’s Silver Circle Membership in honor of outstanding accomplishments and contributions. This is how she was perceived everywhere she worked throughout her life and she loved being around and talking with people wherever she went. In turn, she was loved by many and will be greatly missed.

Services to honor Ida’s life and legacy will be held on July 12, 2025 at 10 AM at the Oakland Cemetery in Warsaw Illinois. A celebration of life will begin at 11 AM at the Botts center in Warsaw.
