John Roland Molitor passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, in Barrington, Illinois, at the age of 85.

Born on April 24, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois, John was the eldest son of the late John A. and Arline Molitor, and was preceded in death by siblings Lois Anderson, Brian Molitor, and Raymond Molitor. He was a devoted husband to his late wife, Maureen, with whom he shared 53 cherished years. His legacy continues through his loving children: John Lance (Lori Salter), Michele Ward (Kevin), and Vicky (Eric) and grandchildren Fiona, Johnny, and Jackson.

John spent his early years in Chicago before moving to Arlington Heights as a teenager. John and Maureen raised their children in Tower Lakes, IL and retired in New River, AZ. After Maureen’s passing, he returned to Illinois to be closer to family.

John’s professional career included many years as an executive in international direct marketing. He enjoyed travelling throughout Canada and Europe and many times having Maureen or the kids travel alongside.

John enjoyed the outdoors in his spare time tending to his gardens and landscaping. He was never content with empty spaces and always trying to fill them in with new trees, shrubbery, and hedges. His homes throughout his life still have a number of his greenery now fully mature. He also enjoyed many years enjoying the water and boating in Tower Lakes, IL and was known to swim year round.

John proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1964 to 1970, achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He was stationed in many areas including; Hawaii, Newfoundland, and Bermuda where he and Maureen met.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to Ram Bhatt, John's dedicated caregiver for the last four years, whose compassion and support have been immeasurable during this time.
