Nancy Kawasaki

Nancy Kawasaki passed away April 18, 2026 at her home in Elgin after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on September 21, 1953.

While Nancy was growing up, her family moved several times due to her father being in the United States Army. They settled in California where Nancy graduated from high school from which she continued to maintain valuable friendships. She went onto achieve a bachelor of arts degree from Cal State in LA.

Nancy then had an over 30 year career in the information technology department at Sears. She started in the territorial offices in California before relocating to Illinois to work at the Sears headquarters in the Sears Tower and then Hoffman Estates.

Nancy enjoyed an active retirement which included volunteering at the Northern Illinois Food Bank and at Elgin Community College theater events.

Nancy is survived by her brother Glenn in Seattle and best friend for over 40 years David Bosely, and by many friends and relatives who loved her for her indomitable spirit, kindness, and generosity.

Nancy is preceded in death by her parents and sister Lillian.
